Job summary

Hynds Group in Auckland is seeking a reliable truck driver based at Onehunga to deliver products across Auckland. You’ll load, transport, and unload, ensuring on-time delivery and accurate PODs, while assisting customers at the branch and over the phone.

You should be confident navigating Auckland sites, maintain vehicle safety, and build friendly relationships with customers. A full NZ Class 2 licence is required, forklift licence is a bonus, and you’ll join a team that values service and

Qualifications

• Must hold a full NZ Class 2 licence.
• Forklift licence helpful; endorsements supported.
• Strong safe driving record and knowledge of Auckland roads.
• Excellent customer service and a can-do attitude.
• Physically fit for loading and yard work.

Responsibilities

• Delivering customer orders across Auckland safely, in full and on time, and getting your PODs sorted.
• Loading and securing your truck, and keeping the vehicle clean, checked and road-legal.
• Being the friendly face of Hynds on site: building good relationships with customers and sorting any issues on the spot.
• Keeping the driver paperwork right: cartage logs, NZTA logbook and timesheets.
• Supporting customers at the branch with advice, quotes, orders and queries, in person and on the phone.
• Pitching in around the branch with yard work, stock control, forklift and inwards goods when you’re not on the road.

Job description

Love being out on the road, and good with people too? This role puts you behind the wheel of our truck, getting product to customers across Auckland, with plenty of customer contact both on site and back at the branch. If you take pride in safe, reliable deliveries and enjoy a good chat with customers, we’d love to hear from you.

Based at our Onehunga branch and reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll keep our customers in the civil, water, wastewater and drainage industries moving. You’ll get their orders to site safely, in full and on time, and help them out at the counter and on the phone when you’re back at base.

It’s a role for someone who’s confident on the road, comfortable navigating Auckland sites and traffic, and sees every delivery as a chance to look after a customer.

What you’ll be doing
