ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Divisional Manager – Water to lead the Water Division within a major Hawke’s Bay infrastructure contractor.

You will oversee delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater works, manage budgets and tenders, build council relationships, and drive safety, quality and team leadership.

The role will lead the Water Division and a major 3 Waters Maintenance Contract, overseeing operational delivery, commercial performance, client relationships, and team leadership.

Main Duties:

• Lead the Water Division and oversee the delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects and maintenance works.
• Manage operational and commercial performance, including budgets, forecasting, contracts, tenders, and business development.
• Maintain strong relationships with council stakeholders and build a robust forward pipeline of work.
• Administer contracts under NZS3910 standards and manage operational risks and subcontractor performance.
• Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols on every job site.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent senior industry experience).
• Proven senior leadership experience in water, civil construction, civil contracting, or infrastructure.
• Strong commercial, financial, contract management, and customer relationship skills.
• Experience leading teams and managing operational delivery, with a good understanding of NZS 3910 and water infrastructure.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based partnerships with municipal councils, asset owners, and key regional clients.
