Job summary

St John of God Hauora Trust – Christchurch, South Island invites applications for a compassionate Support Worker to join our team supporting people living with disabilities. We offer part-time night/day shifts and a friendly, supportive environment committed to dignity and wellbeing.

In this role you will follow care plans, monitor residents at night, complete accurate handovers, and collaborate with the team to help residents achieve lifestyle goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support, healthcare or similar role.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to pick up additional shifts and flexibility with day/night hours.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to lead engaging and fulfilling lives.
• Follow care plans to support health and wellbeing.
• Monitor and respond to residents' needs during night shifts.
• Complete accurate documentation and handovers.
• Collaborate with Activities and Rehabilitation Team for lifestyle goals.
• Pursue NZQA Health and Wellbeing certificates with support.
