Job summary

St John of God Karori supports people living with disability to lead engaging and fulfilling lives. Our team collaborates with the Rehabilitation Team to help residents reach lifestyle goals and community connections, following personalised care plans.

Qualifications

  • Caregiving experience of 2+ years preferred.
  • Good communication skills for team and residents.
  • Current NZ work visa with two NZ work referees.
  • First Aid qualification is required.
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing at any level or NZQA equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents to lead engaging and fulfilling lives.
  • Follow care plans enabling residents’ health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Team to meet lifestyle goals and community connections.
  • Support ongoing NZQA Health and Wellbeing certification with supervisor support.

Job description

St John of God Hauora Trust – Karori, North Island

  • Support residents to lead engaging and fulfilling lives
  • Follow care plans that enable residents in their health and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with the Rehabilitation Team to support residents to achieve lifestyle goals and community connections
  • Continue to achieve NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate levels with support of your manager and Workforce Development team

About You

The ideal person for our team is interested in supporting people and has good communication skills. Other skills and experience that are highly preferred are:

  • Caregiving experience (2+ years preferable)
  • Existing Work Visa with 2 New Zealand work referees
  • Current First Aid Qualification
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing at any level
  • Experience supporting people living with conditions like Huntington's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke,and people living with brain injuries
