Job summary

WSP NZ is seeking a Digital Engineering Lead to drive digital delivery across water projects in Aotearoa New Zealand. The role combines hands-on project delivery with national influence, shaping standards and workflows to lift quality and efficiency.

You will advance digital delivery capability, champion modelling, BIM, and ISO-aligned practices while supporting project teams nationwide. A tertiary engineering qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive digital engineering experience in infrastructure or water.
• Proven ability to lead and embed digital delivery standards across teams.
• Hands-on contributor to project delivery while coaching others.
• Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within engineering environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement at both project and leadership levels.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in digital delivery.
• Tertiary engineering qualification preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support digital delivery across water projects, contributing to modelling, design, and technical outputs.
• Establish and embed consistent modelling standards, workflows, and quality frameworks.
• Act as a technical advisor to the Water Leadership Team on digital engineering practices.
• Drive improvements in tools, systems, and processes to enhance efficiency and delivery outcomes.
• Coach and uplift capability within project teams across the country.
• Support the adoption and implementation of ISO 19650-aligned practices.
• Contribute to strategic direction for digital engineering within the water sector.
• Enhance client outcomes through high-quality, reliable digital delivery.
