Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Oamaru Hospital is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our Allied Health team. In this 24-hour-per-week role, you will deliver evidence-based nutrition care to a varied caseload and support patient wellbeing on a permanent basis.

Open to recent graduates, you will work with multidisciplinary teams, perform nutrition assessment, care planning, and education, and contribute to service improvements.

Qualifications

• Registered dietitian with annual practising certificate and prescribing endorsement.
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
• Patient-centred care in a multidisciplinary team.

Dietitian Oamaru Hospital Salary: $79,014 – $110,290 pro rata + Kiwisaver * 5 FTE (24 hours per week) permanent opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Allied Health team and provide dietetic care in a dynamic hospital environment. Based in Oamaru, you'll help support patients with complex nutritional needs and provide the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient wellbeing and outcomes. This role is open to recent graduates.

About the Role

As a Clinical Dietitian you'll deliver evidence-based nutrition care across a broad and varied caseload. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes through nutritional assessment, care planning, and education. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise across multiple specialties while contributing to quality initiatives and service improvement.

About you

• Hold registration with the New Zealand Dietitians Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate with prescribing endorsement
• Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
• Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to delivering patient-centred care
• Bring cultural competence and a collaborative approach to working in multidisciplinary teams
