Job summary

Ritchies Transport Holdings Ltd. in Whangarei is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a permanent role. You will service, diagnose, and repair our bus fleet, carry out COF inspections, and handle day-to-day maintenance with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Experience with alternative propulsion is a plus as we transition toward a more sustainable fleet. You will work both independently and as part of a team, with opportunities for career progression and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• NZQA L4 Heavy Automotive Qualification or equivalent workshop experience.
• Current NZ Driver's License Class 1 (ideally up to Class 4).
• Attention to detail and a safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair the fleet of buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnostics, fault finding and scheduled maintenance including COF inspections.
• Work independently and in a team to meet regulatory requirements.

Skills

NZ Driver's License Class 1-4

Eye for detail

Health and safety conscious

Physically capable up to 25 kg
