Job summary

Selwyn District Council in New Zealand is seeking a Development Engineering Technical Advisor to coordinate development engineering inputs and provide technical advice for land development processes. You will work closely with the Engineering & Stakeholder Manager to ensure applications, approvals, customer enquiries and technical processes are managed efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in a coordination or administration role within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience managing invoices and complex receipting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High digital literacy and confidence using modern business systems and technology.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for Development Engineering enquiries and providing technical advice to internal and external customers.
• Coordinating Engineering Acceptances, Section 224 Certificates, and 3 Waters Servicing Certificates.
• Managing development engineering inputs into PIMs, LIMs, resource consents, flood assessment certificates, and building consent applications.
• Coordinating street naming, property numbering, and addressing processes.
• Maintaining accurate records, registers, and system information.
• Supporting process improvements and helping identify smarter ways of working.
• Managing invoicing and financial administration associated with development engineering applications.
• Building strong relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, and Council stakeholder
