Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Christ's College – Christchurch, South Island

Join our Advancement Team – 18-month fixed-term opportunity

Christ’s College is one of New Zealand’s leading independent schools, with a proud history, a strong sense of community and an ambitious vision for the future.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Development & Campaign Coordinator to join our collaborative Advancement Team for an 18-month fixed term. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute during an important period in the College’s development and help strengthen the relationships and philanthropic support that enable our students and wider community to thrive.

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, you will provide essential coordination and operational support across the College’s fundraising programmes, including its capital campaign. You will help ensure that development and campaign activities are professionally coordinated, accurately recorded and thoughtfully followed up, creating a positive experience for donors, prospective donors, sponsors and members of the wider College community.

This varied, 18-month fixed-term position will suit someone who enjoys combining detailed coordination and data management with research, relationship support and event delivery.

Why join Christ’s College?

At Christ’s College, you will become part of a welcoming and connected community that values tradition while looking confidently to the future. You will work alongside committed colleagues in a collaborative Advancement Team and contribute to initiatives that will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the College and its students.

Christ’s College is an Anglican school, and the successful applicant will be expected to support its ethos and values.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinating fundraising and capital campaign activities, including prospect lists, meeting preparation, briefings, actions and follow-up
  • Researching and helping to identify prospective donors and sponsors
  • Maintaining accurate donor, prospect, sponsorship and campaign records within Veracross
  • Recording relationship activity, including meetings, pledges, gifts, stewardship activities and agreed actions
  • Preparing database lists, reports and information to support fundraising, donor communications and campaign planning
  • Supporting donor acknowledgements, recognition, correspondence and stewardship
  • Assisting with sponsorship relationships, agreements, benefits and commitments
  • Coordinating fundraising and engagement events, from initial planning through to post-event follow-up
  • Working collaboratively with the Advancement Team and colleagues across the College
  • Providing general coordination and administrative support to the Senior Development Manager
  • Some attendance at College functions and events outside normal working hours will be required.
About you

You are someone who enjoys bringing order to a busy environment and takes pride in making sure the details are right. Proactive and dependable, you are comfortable managing several priorities at once and can be trusted to follow tasks through to completion.

You enjoy working with people and will bring a warm, professional approach to your interactions with colleagues, donors, sponsors and members of the wider College community. You will also understand the importance of discretion and sound judgement when working with sensitive or confidential information.

You will bring:

  • Confidence working with CRM or database systems, ideally Veracross or another fundraising or relationship management platform
  • A strong eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, high-quality information
  • The ability to research, collate and clearly summarise information
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and spreadsheets
  • Experience in coordination, administration, relationship management, events or another relevant area
  • A practical, collaborative attitude and a willingness to step in and help wherever needed
  • Experience in fundraising, advancement, philanthropy, donor stewardship, sponsorship or a capital campaign environment would be an advantage, but just as important is your enthusiasm, initiative and ability to build positive relationships.
