Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is seeking a Deputy Principal to lead high standards in teaching within our online charter school in New Zealand. You will coach, develop and monitor teaching practice across a broad secondary range, from Years 7–15, including wharekura, ensuring alignment with our theory of learning.

Lead professional growth, induction for beginning teachers, and certification endorsements while managing PLD plans and teacher development in a remote, national online environment.

Responsibilities

• Coaching cycles, live-session observations and walkthroughs of online learning.
• Embed the theory of learning and assessment for learning across the school.
• Oversee the professional growth cycle and teaching as inquiry.
• Lead PCT induction, the mentor programme and release time.
• Own the PLD plan, staff meeting PLD calendar and teacher-only days.
• Manage Teaching Council certification endorsements and practicum liaison.
• Manage PLD plan, delivery and external bookings.

To bring our goals for our learners to life, we're expanding our senior leadership team from two to six Deputy Principals, each leading a strategic portfolio shaped by the Golden Circle. This is aHOW role: you'll grow the practice of every teacher through coaching, a shared theory of learning and assessment for learning, all in an online setting.

• Coaching. Run coaching cycles, live-session observations and walkthroughs of online learning.
