Job summary

Lynfield College, located in Auckland, invites applications for deputy principal to join the senior leadership team. This role focuses on equity, student wellbeing, and high-quality teaching across a diverse, high-performing secondary school.

The deputy principal will provide strategic and operational leadership, champion culturally responsive practice in partnership with whānau and communities, and drive data-informed improvements to outcomes for all learners.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a school setting.
• Deep understanding of effective pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships.
• Cultural competence and commitment to working with whānau, iwi, and diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Supporting high expectations for student progress, achievement, and engagement.
• Working collaboratively with leaders, teachers, whānau, and community partners.
• Promoting culturally responsive practice, including alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
• Analysing data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes for all learners.
• Contributing to the overall leadership and strategic direction of the school.
• Oversight of two faculties and support for 2 year levels.
• Negotiated portfolios with strengths in Assessment and Reporting, or Human Resources.

• working collaboratively with leaders, teachers, whānau, and community partners
• promoting culturally responsive practice, including alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles
• analysing data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes for all learners
• contributing to the overall leadership and strategic direction of the school
• oversight of two faculties and support for 2 year levels
• actual portfolios by negotiation although strengths in Assessment and Reporting, or Human Resources may be an advantage.
