Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Waipuna Hospice is seeking two Storepeople—one at Papāmoa Depot and one at Mount Maunganui Shop—to turn generous donations into sale-ready goods. You'll receive donations, decide what to accept, and prepare items for display.
Both roles involve lifting and moving, loading vans, and helping keep the workspace tidy. Shifts are 20 hours per week with Thursday-Saturday or Sunday-Tuesday patterns, on-site in Tauranga.
Make your next role matter
At Waipuna Hospice, every role contributes to something bigger.
Our charity shops turn donated goods into vital funds, helping provide specialist palliative care and support to people living with a life-limiting illness and their whānau across Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty.
Behind every shop is a team making it all happen. Our depot plays a key part in keeping goods moving, supporting our shops and making the most of the community’s generosity. As a Storeperson, your practical, hands‑on work will help turn donations into care.
Our retail team brings together employees, volunteers, donors and customers with a shared purpose. We value teamwork, take pride in what we do, and give donated goods a second life while raising funds for a service our community relies on.
When you join Waipuna Hospice, you join a team that cares about its people and the difference we make together.
We’re looking for two Storepeople - one based at our Pāpāmoa Depot and the other at our Mount Maunganui Shop - to help turn the community’s generous donations into goods ready for sale.
In both roles, you’ll receive donations, decide which items we can accept, and sort and prepare them for sale. You’ll also load and unload vans and help keep your workspace clean, organised and running smoothly.
At the depot, you may occasionally head out in our van to collect or deliver larger items, such as furniture, although driving is only a small part of the role. At the shop, you’ll work alongside our retail team to move and display donated goods. Both roles may also involve basic maintenance, cleaning donated goods and electrical testing.
These are busy, hands‑on roles involving regular lifting and moving of goods, including furniture. You’ll need the physical fitness to carry out these tasks safely, a practical approach and a willingness to pitch in.
Each role is 20 hours per week, with shift patterns of either Thursday to Saturday or Sunday to Tuesday.
Your work will help keep our shops stocked and raise vital funds for hospice care in our community.
