Fulton Hogan Ltd in Wellington seeks an experienced Electrical Department Manager to lead our local team. You’ll oversee maintenance contracts for Local Bodies, Councils, and regional authorities, and steer medium-scale greenfield and brownfield projects across the Greater Wellington region.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on safe delivery, strong relationships, and delivering high-quality electrical work across highways and city streets, including street lighting, cabling and ITS.
We have a unique opportunity for an Electrical Department Manager to lead our Wellington team. You’ll oversee maintenance contracts for Local Bodies, Councils, and other regional authorities, as well as medium-scale greenfield and brownfield projects across the Greater Wellington region. You’ll lead teams delivering electrical work across highways and city streets, including street lighting, pole replacement, cabling, fittings, and ITS. This is a hands’on leadership role where strong relationships, safe delivery, and good work matter.
Lead a team of electricians, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and overseeing their work. Pricing of work and preparation of tenders/quotes/estimates. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and timelines. Secure forward workload to maintain the department and meet targets. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety among the team. Lead and champion Fulton Hogan best practices, work procedures, health and safety, environment and quality procedures.
Registered Electrician with a current practising license (EWRB Registration). Proven experience (5+ years) as an electrician. Class 1 full driver’s licence. In’depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including a strong understanding of the integration between the two. Strong analytical and problem’solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills. Experience in developing and leading training sessions for electrical and operational staff. Financial and business acumen. Pricing and tendering experience.
