Job summary

Elgas Limited in Christchurch, New Zealand, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our busy team. You will deliver and fill LPG cylinders, interact with customers, and ensure safety during handling of dangerous goods.

A Class 2 licence and clean background are required, with regional knowledge and a proactive safety approach. The role runs Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays, starting early and finishing in the late afternoon.

We’re looking for a hardworking, dependable driver to join our busy team. You’ll need Class 2 driving experience and a clean criminal history.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

• Your working time will be Monday to Friday starting around 06:30am, finishing no later than 05:00pm
• Occasional Saturdays are required
• Role involves delivering and filling LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses across the region
• You’ll be interacting with customers face-to-face, so you might need to answer questions or help them out
• As you’ll be handling dangerous goods, attention to detail with a strong commitment to health and safety is super important

What Makes You Great

• You have a clean Class 2 licence with at least two years driving experience (in Class 2)
• Can drive manual transmission and you have previous experience delivering goods
• Be physically fit, and able to lift heavy items when doing deliveries
• Dangerous Goods licence and LPG filling experience (or be willing to undergo training)
• Flexible and adaptable with a strong focus on customer service
• Have good knowledge of the region
• You are able to use handheld computer delivery equipment
• A proactive approach and responsibility towards Health and Safety
• Satisfactorily pass background checks such as: Criminal & ACC history, medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
• Be a team player with a can-do attitude and the flexibility to meet the demands of the operations
