Job summary

Placements24 partners with a warm, family-based client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, to hire a compassionate Full-Time Childcare Provider for their 2-year-old. You will oversee daily care, supervise development, plan age-appropriate activities, prepare meals, maintain routines and a safe play environment, while communicating with parents about progress.

The role requires at least 2 years of childcare experience, First Aid and CPR, and a patient, nurturing disposition.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience, preferably with toddlers.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Ability to create a safe, engaging play environment and routines.
• Legally authorized to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for a 2-year-old child.
• Plan and engage the child in age‑appropriate educational and developmental activities (e.g., play, reading, music, crafts).
• Prepare healthy and balanced meals and snacks for the child.
• Manage the child's daily routines, including naps, feeding, diapering/toilet training, and hygiene.
• Ensure the child's environment is safe, clean, and stimulating.
• Promote the child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Communicate effectively with parents about the child's day, progress, and any concerns.
• Maintain a consistent and positive approach to discipline and care.
