Job summary

NordEast Vehicle Distributors – Auckland, North Island is seeking a Dealer Development Manager to lead Geely's NZ dealer network expansion and performance. You will manage appointments, onboarding, facilities, systems, and training across multiple sites while building strong relationships with Dealer Principals and senior leaders.

Ideal candidates bring senior automotive retail experience, a track record of start-up and growth, and excellent communication, negotiation, and project management

• Build relationships with Dealer Principals and senior leadership; conduct regular performance reviews.
• Monitor sales, aftersales, customer experience, and KPIs; report on network growth and risks.
• Drive capability through training and best-practice sharing.
• Collaborate with Farizon representation expansion with Geely partners.

This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in the growth of one of New Zealand's fastest growing automotive brands.

Geely is one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers and is rapidly establishing itself as a major force in the New Zealand market. As the brand continues its expansion, we are seeking an experienced Dealer Development Manager to lead the development, performance and growth of the Geely dealer network across New Zealand.

The role sits within NordEast Vehicle Distributors, a Giltrap Group company and the only automotive distributor globally to represent all six Geely Group brands: Geely, Zeekr, Farizon, Volvo, Polestar and Lotus.

As Dealer Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding and strengthening the Geely dealer network, enhancing dealer performance and capability, and supporting the growth of Farizon representation through selected Geely dealer partners.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the expansion of the Geely dealer network from 8 to 20 dealerships across New Zealand.
• Managing dealer appointment, onboarding, and operational readiness, including facilities, systems, training, resources, and capability.
• Building strong relationships with Dealer Principals and senior leadership teams and leading regular performance reviews.
• Monitoring sales, aftersales, customer experience, operational performance, business plans, and key performance indicators.
• Developing dealer improvement plans and driving capability through training, coaching, and best-practice sharing.
• Overseeing facility, signage, showroom, workshop, and Corporate Identity requirements to maintain Geely and Farizon brand standards.
• Maintaining accurate reporting on network growth, dealer readiness, performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Supporting the expansion of Farizon representation through appropriate Geely dealer partners in collaboration with the Farizon Country Manager.

About You

Our ideal candidate is a senior automotive professional with proven experience developing dealer networks, leading operational readiness, and influencing senior stakeholders. You will be comfortable managing priorities across multiple sites and travelling extensively within New Zealand. You should also have:

• Senior-level automotive retail, dealer operations, or network development experience, preferably within an importer, distributor, or manufacturer environment.
• A strong commercial understanding of dealership operations across sales, service, customer experience, facilities, systems, and brand standards.
• Proven experience leading dealer start-up, network growth, site transition, or operational readiness activities.
• Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, negotiation, and dealer performance management skills.
• Excellent communication, project management, financial, and commercial problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft skills and flexibility to undertake significant travel within New Zealand.
