Job summary

Reserve Bank of New Zealand is seeking a Data Product Lead to drive the enhancement and ongoing development of Loan Level Data and Insurance Data products as they transition to business-as-usual. This senior role combines technical delivery with leadership and collaboration across the Bank.

You'll work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritise enhancements, and develop products that make complex data accessible and valuable for supervision, financial stability, policy and research.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in finance, economics, statistics, data science or a related discipline.
• Six+ years experience in statistics, analytics, data management or a financial institution.
• Experience designing and enhancing data products that meet user needs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with data platforms and tools such as Azure, Snowflake, dbt, SQL, PowerBI, Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enhancement and ongoing development of data products (Loan Level Data and Insurance Data).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and prioritise enhancements.
• Develop dashboards, statistical tables and reporting outputs.
• Support analytics models and prototypes using Python and/or R.
• Establish best practices for sustainable data product development across functions.
