Job summary

Avanti Finance is seeking a results-driven Data Governance Analyst to join our NZ/Australia team. You will deliver data literacy sessions, collaborate with stakeholders, and help build a robust data catalogue, dictionary and governance documentation.

You’ll map data lineage, support Snowflake and Power BI usage, and translate conversations into clear data-centric documentation to support better decisions. Whether you're a recent graduate or have a few years' experience, this role offers hands-on

  • Previous exposure to data, reporting, governance, Power BI, or Snowflake is advantageous, but not essential. We can teach you this.

You’ll play a key role in improving data literacy across the business, helping to deliver engaging training sessions that build confidence and capability in the way teams use data. Working closely with business groups to help understand what data they rely on, where it comes from, how it's used as well as any concerns you may have with their data quality to help build and create a data catalogue. You will also help identify and document data lineage, creating a clear picture of how data flows across systems and process.

Alongside this, you’ll also have access to snowflake and Power BI where you will also be assisting with queries around the data, maintaining the data definition and dictionary.

What you do:

  • Prepare governance documentation and packs, turning stakeholder discussions into clear, structured information that supports better decision-making.
