Job summary

Avanti Finance is seeking a Risk and Compliance intern to roll up sleeves and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative team. You’ll work on real projects, develop practical skills, and learn how risk and compliance keep the business running smoothly.

Ideal candidates are in their second or third year, with strong communication and analytical thinking, ready to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. Flexible working arrangements may be available.

Qualifications

• Second or third year of study
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail and an organised approach
• Confidence to ask questions and engage with stakeholders across the business
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a collaborative team
• Interest in risk, compliance, governance, audit, business, law, or related field

Responsibilities

• Monitor shared inboxes, triaging emails and directing them to the appropriate person
• Assist with incident and issue management processes, following up for information and ensuring actions are completed
• Assist with month-end risk and compliance reporting, including data extraction and analysis
• Assist with reviewing and uplifting risk and compliance training materials
• Assist with risk and compliance policy reviews
• Assist with maintenance and updates of risk management registers
• Assist with assurance reviews of processes and controls

The Role:

As a Risk and Compliance intern, you’ll get the opportunityto roll up your sleeves and gain hands on experience in a supportive andcollaborative team. You’ll get to work on a variety of real business projects,build practical skills, and learn how risk and compliance help keep anorganisation running smoothly.

What you will be doing:

• Assisting with month-end riskand compliance reporting processes, including extracting information fromour risk management system, performing data analysis and adding toreporting pack
• Assist with review and uplift ofrisk and compliance training materials
• Assist with risk and compliancepolicy reviews
• Assist with maintenance of andupdate of various specialised registers we have in our risk managementsystem
• Assistwith assurance reviews of processes and controls
