Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Appliances Ltd in Auckland is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data & Analytics team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and deliver actionable insights across key business metrics.

You will work with SQL-based transformations, PowerBI, and the Microsoft data stack, collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience sourcing, building, analysing, and presenting organisational data to support critical business decisions.
• Strong expertise in SQL, including writing efficient, reusable queries and reviewing and optimising others’ work.
• Proven experience with BI and analytics platforms, with hands-on PowerBI skills.
• Solid experience across the Microsoft data stack, including SQLServer, SSIS, SSAS, and PowerBI.
• Demonstrated data modelling, data integration, CDC, and multi-source data handling (e.g., Salesforce).
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data retrieval, storage, and distribution.
• Develop, optimise, and quality‑assure complex SQL queries and data transformations for reporting and analytics.
• Define and advocate data modelling, data quality, and data management standards.
• Design, develop, and deploy reporting and analytics solutions delivering actionable insights across key metrics.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify and implement improvements to data processes, automation, and platform scalability.
