Job summary

Reboot Monkey in Napier, New Zealand seeks a Data Center Technician to support critical infrastructure at a world-class data center facility. This is a full-time, on-site role with responsibilities spanning server/network maintenance, cabling, deployments, incident response, and documentation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data center operations, strong cabling skills, and relevant vendor certifications; ITIL knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience.
• Expert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber).
• Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Cisco) preferred.
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, CDCE) preferred.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices preferred.
• Willingness to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.
