Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician in Auckland. You will support our data centre facilities and critical equipment, including LV electrical lineups, diesel generators, HVAC and fire suppression systems.

You will supervise vendors, respond to incidents, and become a subject matter expert for the facility. The role requires 4+ years in data center environments, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, a related engineering degree, and

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience.
• 5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in vendor management

Responsibilities

• Manage your site, including the collocation vendor and associated sub-contractors, ensuring that all work is performed to AWS high standards, observing established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Review the management of both routine and corrective maintenance on a variety of critical systems such as: switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses & prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.
• Create and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
