Job summary

Amazon Data Services New Zealand Limited in Auckland seeks an Electrical Colo Regional Engineer to lead full lifecycle support for data centers, from design inception through site upgrades and maintenance. You will serve as the go-to engineering resource for the region, coordinating with operations, commissioning and design teams to meet AWS standards.

You will manage projects, review designs with vendors, and drive improvements in availability, efficiency and safety while supporting AWS growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning education courses.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.

Responsibilities

• Review colo design for new Data Centers in region, input design and submittal reviews.
• Act as resident engineer during colo construction projects; support commissioning and handover.
• Troubleshoot, perform RCA and document corrective actions for site/equipment failures.
• Provide technical support to design upgrades that add capacity, improve availability and efficiency.
• Support operating partners to review and approve colo data center upgrades for availability/efficiency.
• Interface with partners and design teams to maintain consistency and reliability of services.
• Work on concurrent projects across multiple regions.
• Lead site audits and produce risk reports with mitigations.
