Job description

Own the data and logic behind our evolving radiologist remuneration scheme - a hands-on, people-facing analytics role for someone to build the engine

He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

We are seeking applications for a Data & Insights Analyst, based in Christchurch or Wellington. In this position you will become the trusted data expert and analyst behind our radiologist remuneration scheme – a still-evolving initiative that rewards our radiologists fairly and transparently for their reporting output, and directly supports our reporting technology.

This is a permanent, full-time role.

The successful candidate will:

  • Act as subject matter expert on the radiologist remuneration scheme and worklist management, confidently explaining the detail to radiologists, Managing Radiologists, the Chief Radiologist and the Head of Radiologist Experience.
  • Analyse data, identify trends, and design and build the underlying data models and calculation logic – not just the dashboards – that keep the scheme accurate and trusted.
  • Support capacity planning and demand forecasting, helping shape rosters and keep our radiologist workforce running smoothly.
Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you
  • You genuinely enjoy working with people. You're just as comfortable explaining data and building trust with radiologists and senior leaders as you are building a data model – this is not a backroom, heads‑down role.
  • You're dynamic and thrive on variety. Our scheme is still evolving, and this role evolves with it – you certainly won't be bored.
  • You bring professionalism, confidence, teamwork and strong self-management – equally comfortable prioritising your own workload independently and building relationships across the business.
  • You're genuinely skilled at your craft – and it goes beyond building dashboards. You can design the underlying data model and write the calculation logic that powers it, with hands‑on experience in DAX and Power Query (M) in Power BI, and/or Level of Detail (LOD) expressions and table calculations in Tableau. Working knowledge of SQL to query and validate data directly from source systems is expected, and exposure to data modelling concepts (e.g. star schema) is an advantage.

For this great opportunity, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate our values:

  • PATIENTS are our why. We listen to patients, respect their choices, and involve them in decisions about their imaging and care.
  • Our TEAM is our greatest strength.
  • MANAAKI is at our core. We treat everyone with warmth, respect, empathy, and compassion, acknowledging their worth and dignity.
  • EXCELLENCE is our ambition.
Ngā hua mōu | What's in it for you

The chance to enhance your career in an evolving work environment whilst making a difference to the health of everyday New Zealanders. This mahi makes a difference!

Beyond the numbers, you'll be joining a fun, close‑kn it team at the heart of one of our most important – and most interesting – initiatives. With genuine variety across data, people and process, this is a role where you truly won't be bored.

We offer a competitive salary and staff benefits package including:

  • Generous leave: 5 weeks annual leave and up to 5 days domestic leave annually (pro rata)
  • Professional training and development opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Employer funded Southern Cross Health Insurance
