The Tertiary Education Commission Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua (TEC) is a small Crown agency with a big job. We help shape a tertiary education system that equips learners, communities and employers for success.
We invest more than $3 billion each year across the tertiary education and careers systems. Our data supports investment decisions, funding, monitoring and reporting across TEC.
We are looking for a permanent Data Analyst with strong SQL, data warehouse analysis and data modelling skills.
This role is well suited to an analyst who enjoys working with technical detail, complex data and data models.
You will report to the Data Development Team Lead and join our Data and Development team. The team includes data analysts and data warehouse developers at intermediate, senior and principal levels.
You will initially work on a major data migration project. We are remodelling data from our existing SQL Server data warehouse for our Databricks-based Modern Data Platform.
You will analyse how data currently moves through the warehouse. You will document the data structures, transformations and business rules that the new solution must support.
You will translate high-level business requirements into detailed data requirements and technical documentation. Data warehouse developers will use your documentation to design and build the new solution.

The salary range for this position starts from $90,956 up to $107,007+ 3.5% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
