South Taranaki District Council is seeking a Data and AI Engineer for a two-year fixed-term role to advance data platforms, BI reporting and AI capabilities across the organisation.

You will design and maintain data pipelines, integrate systems, and deliver scalable analytics with SQL, Azure and Power BI while ensuring governance and security. Collaboration with stakeholders and ongoing AI-ready data products will be key.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (CS/IS/Data Analytics).
• Strong SQL and Microsoft Power BI skills including data modelling and reporting.
• Experience building data pipelines, integrations and reporting solutions.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy and security principles.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build and maintain data platforms, pipelines and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Transform data into meaningful reporting and analytics for informed decision-making.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security and compliance across systems.
• Contribute to AI/automation capabilities through AI-ready datasets and semantic models.
