Job summary

Tasman District Council in Richmond, New Zealand, is seeking a Cybersecurity Manager to lead the Council's cyber strategy, governance and assurance capability. You will drive the cybersecurity programme and strengthen digital risk management across Council operations.

You will influence secure-by-design outcomes, advise senior leaders, and lead the adoption of secure technologies, including AI, while balancing innovation with risk management.

Qualifications

• Broad technical knowledge across IAM, cloud and network security, vulnerability management, incident response and security assurance.
• Ability to translate complex security concepts into practical guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cybersecurity programme, governance and assurance for Tasman District Council.
• Strengthen digital risk management and influence secure technology and AI adoption.
• Provide cybersecurity advice to senior leaders and ensure risks are understood and mitigated across digital operations.
