Job summary

PGG Wrightson in Te Kuiti is seeking two enthusiastic, customer-focused people to support our Rural Supplies team. These full-time positions include in-store sales, stock management, merchandising and occasional deliveries, with rostered Saturday mornings possible.

You'll join New Zealand’s rural specialist and help customers with practical advice, product recommendations and day-to-day farming and horticultural challenges. Training is provided and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in the New Zealand rural sector is highly desirable.
• A full, current and clean New Zealand driver licence.
• Experience driving and backing trailers is highly desirable.
• A team player who can contribute to strong results.
• Good physical fitness due to regular heavy lifting.
• Retail/sales experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound advice to customers based on their needs.
• Proactively solve queries and problems from customers, suppliers and staff.
• Process sales and product requests efficiently.
• Order, unpack and display merchandise per company guidelines.
• Undertake forklift, ute, trailer driving and delivery duties.

Job description

We're looking for two enthusiastic and customer focused people with a passion for agriculture to join our Rural Supplies team in Te Kuiti. Whether you're already working in the rural sector or looking to grow your career in the industry, we have opportunities available in both a full time permanent role and a full time fixed term role through to November 2027.

PGG Wrightson is one of New Zealand's leading nationwide providers of products and services to the rural sector. We are helping grow the country through our knowledge, service and expertise. Both roles are full time, Monday to Friday, may require working rostered Saturday mornings.

About the role:

Based in store, you'll work closely with customers to provide practical advice, recommend products and help solve day-to-day farming and horticultural challenges. No two days are the same. From serving customers and processing sales to managing stock, merchandising displays and making deliveries, you'll play an important role in keeping the store running smoothly.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide sound advice to a variety of customers based on their needs
• Proactively solve queries and problems from customers, suppliers and other staff
• Process sales and product requests efficiently
• Order, unpack and display merchandise according to company guidelines
• Undertake forklift, ute, trailer driving and delivery duties

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in the New Zealand rural sector is highly desirable
• A full, current and clean New Zealand driver licence
• Experience driving and backing trailers is highly desirable
• A team player who can roll up their sleeves and contribute to outstanding results
• Good physical fitness as regular heavy lifting is required
• Previous retail and/or sales experience is an advantage but not essential
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
