Rose Optometry in Hamilton, NZ is seeking a part-time client-facing role to warmly welcome patients, answer calls and online inquiries, and manage appointments with a focus on efficient service.
You will support optical pre- and post-testing, dispense assistance, and processing of purchases while providing helpful information about eye care and eyewear. The team emphasizes excellent patient experience in a friendly environment.
This is a part-time role. Monday and Friday (8am - 5pm).
The purpose of this role is to support the customer service, dispensing and clinical team to ensure every patient and customer who enters or contacts the practice is provided with timely and efficient service and that the service is delivered in accordance with the vision, values and protocols of the practice. You'll be at the heart of the patient experience, warmly welcoming patients, answering phone and online enquiries, scheduling appointments, processing purchases and payments, and providing helpful information about eye care and eyewear. You'll also support clinical and dispensing teams with optical pre- and post-testing, contact lens administration, minor repairs, document processing, and other day-to-day tasks that help the practice run smoothly.
Timely answering of incoming phone calls
Timely and efficient acknowledgement and processing of patients and customers on arrival in the practice
Process patient purchases and payments
Provide education materials to patients about eye care and eyewear
Response to email and website contact within 24 hours
Deal with patient and customer queries, referring to Dispensing, Clinical, Technical and Administration staff as applicable
Optical pre-testing and optical post-testing
Support of Contact Lens and Clinical Assistants
Minor repairs, document scanning, ACC and Contact Lens Express processing
Experienced in customer service
Professional attitude and presentation
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrates a high level of initiative

Effective organisational and time management skills

Proficiency with computer literacy and peripherals
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
