Job summary

Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu is seeking two Service Station Attendants to join our gas station team. These full-time roles involve a 30–35 hour week with rosters including weekends, delivering friendly customer service, handling payments, and assisting with coffee and light food prep.

You will help keep the forecourt clean, operate pumps, and support promotions while ensuring safety and quality service at all times.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly attitude.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle queries professionally.
• Strong teamwork mindset and reliability on weekend shifts.
• Experience with coffee, food preparation or hospitality is preferred but not required.
• Full driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Fill fuel tanks and containers to customer specifications.
• Check tyre air pressure and oil/fluids levels.
• Keep forecourt clean and free from hazards and rubbish.
• Greet customers and assist with their needs and queries.
• Promote store promotions and specials to customers.
• Handle customer complaints and refer to manager when needed.
• Collect payments and provide receipts on request.
• Assist with preparing coffee/beverages and basic food prep.
• Operate fuel pumps with care and discretion.
• Empty forecourt bins and maintain windscreen cleaning solution daily.

Job description

We are looking for two enthusiastic and hardworking Service Station Attendants to join our team at our Gas Station as full-time employees in a fast-paced and fun team.

The Service Station Attendant is expected to work a minimum of 30 - 35 hours a week with a weekly payroll. Hours are rostered on a weekly basisand include weekend shifts.

Job Description:
1. Filling fuel tanks and containers to the level specified by the customer.
2. Checking and replenishing air pressure in vehicle tyres, and oil and other vehicle fluid levels.
3. Always ensure the forecourt is clear of any rubbish, debris and potential hazards.
4. Greeting and welcoming all customers, assisting with their needs and queries politely and professionally.
5. Be aware of all current store promotions and specials, informing all customers accordingly.
6. Professionally handling customer complaints and referring these to the manager accordingly.
7. Collect customer payments and provide a receipt upon customer request.
8. Assist with preparing coffee and beverages, and support basic food preparation and presentation to ensure quality service standards.
9. Activate fuel pumps for customers' using careful discernment and discretion.
10. Ensure forecourt bins are emptied daily and the windscreen solution is changed on a daily basis.

Job Requirements:

• Be outgoing, friendly and have a can-do attitude.
• Have prior experience with making great coffee, food preparation and presentation preferred but not compulsory.
• An ability to provide top class customer service.
• An ability to undertake cleaning activities, replenish and move stock and serve customers at the point of sale and all other work related to gas station.
• A real Team Member.
• Gas station experience is preferred but not compulsory.
• Valid driver full licence compulsary.
• Please ensure you provide your full availability for mornning, evening, night and weekend shifts monday to sunday.

All suitable candidates should be able to pass a drug test and a Ministry of Justice check when required.
