Job summary

LiveHire Limited is seeking a Custodian for a seasonal fixed-term assignment in Wanaka, NZ. The role covers town centre facilities and outdoor spaces, with rostered shifts and weekend availability.

You will clean public toilets, BBQs, water fountains and related facilities to keep them safe and inviting for visitors. You should be self-motivated, safety-conscious and able to work independently with a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise high-touch surfaces such as taps, sinks, handrails, door handles and toilets.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and bathroom cleaning.
• Tidy external grounds including rubbish collection, leaf blowing and water blasting.
• Maintain stock levels for soap, toilet paper and hand towels.

Job description

Seasonal Fixed Term opportunity from Nov 2026 till the end of February 2027!

Do you have a great work ethic, enjoy getting stuck in, and hold a full driver’s licence?

This role will be based out of the Wanaka depot however the role will take place across the Wanaka Region.

Hours: Monday - Friday withvariable start and finish times between 7am to 9pm depending on your rostered shift.

What does a Custodian do, you ask?

In this role, you’ll help keep public toilets and facilities such as BBQ's, water fountains around the town centre, lakefront, and surrounding areas clean, safe, and inviting for all visitors.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning and sanitising high-touch surfaces, including taps, sinks, handrails, door handles, and toilets.
• Performing routine cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, and bathroom cleaning.
• Tidying external grounds, including rubbish collection, leaf blowing, and water blasting.
• Maintaining stock levels for soap, toilet paper, and hand towels.

Ideally, you’ll be available full-time, with weekend availability but we can make small adjustments for the right person. You will also know your roster in advance in order to plan your leisure time!

About You

You’ll be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, passionate about delivering excellent customer service, and able to represent Green by Nature and the Council professionally. You should be capable of working independently and prioritise safety for yourself, the team, and the public. Ideally, you’ll also have a full, class 1 driver’s licence with manual driving capability to be able to drive our vehicles.
