Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking a Crew Controller based at Auckland Airport Campus to coordinate short-term crewing operations, ensuring flights are staffed safely and on time. You’ll balance customer commitments with regulatory requirements in a fast-paced environment and join a team focused on delivering exceptional travel experiences.

You’ll develop daily crewing plans, respond to disruptions with swift solutions, and work with internal teams to resolve resourcing challenges.

Qualifications

  • Experience in rostering, planning or operations.
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach to complex problems.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Understanding of airport or airline operations (advantageous).

We’re looking for a Crew Controller to join our Auckland-based team and help keep our people and planes where they need to be so we can continue delivering an exceptional experience for customers across our jet network.

This permanent role follows a 6 days on, 3 days off roster and is based at our Auckland Airport Campus.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Crew Controller, you’ll be part of the team responsible for short-term crewing operations, ensuring every flight is safely and compliably crewed. You’ll help coordinate flight crew resources across our jet network, balancing customer commitments, operational constraints and regulatory obligations.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop and manage daily operational crewing plans
  • Provide fast, effective crewing solutions during disruptions
  • Ensure crew assignments comply with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve resourcing challenges
  • Support network performance by maintaining efficient crew schedules.
