Job summary

Pacific Health Group in Queenstown is seeking an empathetic and experienced Counsellor to support our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). The role involves in-person, video and telehealth counselling, and on-site visits to worksites for intervention after events.

You will deliver focused counselling and training to employees, contributing to a compassionate, confidential service with strong team support. The ideal candidate holds APC with NZAC/DAPAANZ/SWRB/NZCCA, has a Counselling qualification

Qualifications

• A strong sense of others - empathy and sensitivity are essential.
• Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA.
• Tertiary level 7 Counselling or related qualification and at least five years of post-study experience in general counselling.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models (e.g., SFT, CBT, FACT) is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and attend on-sites for psychological first aid.
• Experience in trauma intervention and psychological first-aid.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused interventions enabling clients to utilise health coping mechanisms at work and life.
• Visit worksites to provide support after an event disruption.
• Deliver counselling services via in-person, video and telehealth.
• Deliver training to customer employees.
