Job summary

Habit Health in Queenstown seeks an empathetic Counsellor to join our Employee Assistance Programme. This role focuses on supporting staff through on-site visits, telehealth and workplace interventions.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 7 Counselling qualification with NZ regulatory membership and at least five years of general counselling experience, including trauma and evidence-based therapies.

Qualifications

• Empathy and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA registration is required.
• Minimum five years of post-study counselling experience.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapies (SFT, CBT, FACT) desirable.
• Ability to work independently and attend on-sites for psychological first aid.
• Experience in trauma intervention and psychological first aid.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused interventions enabling clients to utilise health coping mechanisms at work and life.
• Visit worksites to provide support after an event disruption.
• Deliver counselling services via in-person, video and telehealth.

The ideal candidate:

• A strong sense of others we’re looking for sensitivity and empathy as traits
• Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA
