Job summary

Habit Health in Gisborne is seeking an empathetic counsellor to support employees through focused interventions, trauma-informed care, and psychological first aid on-site and via telehealth.

You will visit worksites, deliver counselling, and provide training to staff, with a commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years post-study experience in general counselling.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models e.g. SFT, CBT, FACT is desirable.
• Tertiary Level 7 Counselling or related qualification.
• Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA.

The ideal candidate

• A strong sense of others - we’re looking for sensitivity and empathy as traits
• Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA
• Tertiary level 7 Counselling or related qualification and a minimum of five years of post-study experience in general counselling is required.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models e.g. SFT, CBT, FACT is desirable
• Can work independently and attend on-sites for psychological first aid
• Experience in trauma intervention, psychological first-aid
