Job summary

New Zealand Government is seeking Corrections Officers for Manawatu Prison in Linton. The role focuses on maintaining security, safety and wellbeing of inmates, inducting new entrants, and guiding daily routines.

You will join a custodial team with comprehensive training, ongoing development, and opportunities for advancement. Applicants should be able to work a 24/7 rotating roster, with preference for those aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Kaupapa Māori or Pasifika experiences.

Qualifications

• The legal right to work in New Zealand or a Work Visa with at least 24 months remaining
• A full New Zealand Driver Licence (or be eligible to obtain one)
• To declare any conflicts of interest and previous convictions
• Medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness Assessment
• Priority given to candidates who already hold the legal right to work in New Zealand; visa applications may not be supported
