Auckland CBD accounting firm seeks an experienced Corporate Services & AML Administrator to join our small Auckland team. This full-time, onsite role combines corporate administration with NZ AML/CFT compliance.
You will perform non-resident AML/CFT checks, maintain company records, handle director/shareholder changes, and liaise with CAS360 and First AML to ensure due diligence.
Auckland CBD | Full-time | Salary negotiable depending on experience
We are a specialist accounting firm looking for an experienced Corporate Services & AML Administrator to join our small Auckland team. This is a full time role working onsite in our Auckland office.
This is a varied role combining corporate administration with support for our New Zealand AML/CFT obligations.
Our clients are predominantly privately owned businesses, and many are Australian companies operating in New Zealand. As a result, much of our AML work involves non-resident clients, directors, shareholders and beneficial owners whom we do not meet in person.
For this reason, we are specifically looking for someone with practical experience completing non-resident and non-face-to-face AML/CFT checks. Experience limited to verifying New Zealand-resident clients face-to-face will not, by itself, provide the level of experience we are seeking.
You will be responsible for:
incorporating New Zealand companies and registering limited partnerships;
preparing and lodging Companies Office annual returns;
maintaining statutory company records and registers;
processing director and shareholder changes;
preparing resolutions and documentation for share transfers and other corporate changes;
managing corporate compliance through CAS360;
completing and reviewing AML/CFT customer due diligence through First AML;
verifying non-resident individuals and overseas entities remotely;
identifying directors, shareholders, beneficial owners and persons with effective control;
reviewing ownership structures and determining who requires verification; and
following up clients for outstanding corporate and AML documentation.
You will ideally have experience in an accounting firm, law firm, corporate services provider or similar professional services environment.
You should already have a practical understanding of company structures and be comfortable with concepts such as:
the difference between a director and a shareholder;
share transfers and changes in ownership;
company registers and statutory records; and
corporate resolutions and Companies Office requirements.
Practical experience completing AML/CFT checks for non-resident or non-face-to-face clients is important.
You should be comfortable obtaining and verifying identity and ownership information remotely rather than relying on clients attending an office in person.
Familiarity with New Zealand limited partnerships would be an advantage, particularly an understanding of the respective roles of the limited partnership, general partner and limited partners.
Experience with CAS360 and First AML would also be advantageous, although system training can be provided to someone with the right underlying experience.
You will also need:
a sound understanding of New Zealand AML/CFT requirements;
strong attention to detail;
good organisational and written communication skills;
confidence dealing directly with clients;
strong computer literacy; and
the ability to work independently and escalating issues where appropriate.
We are a small specialist accounting firm supporting businesses with New Zealand accounting, tax and compliance obligations.
Many of our clients are Australian businesses operating in New Zealand, so cross-border company administration and non-resident AML checks are a routine part of our work.
This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of corporate compliance work and wants to be an important part of a small professional accounting team.
