Job summary

Fluid Recruitment, Auckland-based accounting practice, is seeking a Team Leader to manage a portfolio of business advisory and compliance clients while mentoring a small team. The role blends hands-on technical accounting with client relationship leadership and the opportunity to influence team performance.

You’ll supervise staff, review work, and collaborate with Directors on complex matters, all within a flexible, balanced work culture that values work-life balance and high-quality advisory

Qualifications

• CA qualified (or equivalent)
• Strong public practice accounting background
• Experience managing client relationships end-to-end
• Comfortable reviewing work and mentoring junior staff

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance work
• Provide practical business advisory support and build trusted client relationships

• Review workflow and assist with delegation and prioritisation across the team

About the Firm

A well-established, forward-thinking Chartered Accounting firm based on the Auckland city fringe is seeking a Team Leader to join its team.
The firm has long-standing client relationships and experienced directors at the helm, supporting a diverse SME client base across a range of industries.
This is not a traditional compliance-focused practice. The Role

You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of established clients across business advisory and compliance while also providing leadership and guidance to a small team.
This is not a purely managerial role, it's suited to someone who still enjoys technical accounting work and building strong client relationships, while also wanting the opportunity to mentor others and influence team performance.
