Job summary

Auckland Council seeks a Corporate Security Concierge to provide a visible security presence across corporate properties from Albany. The role blends security operations with professional concierge services to keep staff, visitors and contractors safe and welcomed.

You’ll support incident response, emergency management, access control and high-profile event coordination while building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in security, concierge, customer service or a similar operational environment.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Professional, discreet and customer-focused approach.
• Experience completing incident reports and using security or reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive security patrols and monitor risks across corporate sites.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity and challenging behaviour.
• Support emergency responses, evacuations, lockdowns and business continuity events.
• Manage site access processes for staff, visitors and contractors.
• Coordinate security requirements for VIP visits, events and other high-profile activities.
• Provide concierge services including visitor assistance, wayfinding and escorts.
• Maintain incident reports, security records and documentation.
• Build effective relationships with Council teams, security providers, Police and community stakeholders.
• Undertake Building Warden duties and provide first aid when required.
