Job summary

Auckland Council in Auckland City, NZ, is seeking a Principal Information Security Consultant to provide principal level leadership across Information Security and to guide a team of consultants in delivering secure solutions.

Reporting to the CISO, this senior role shapes enterprise security strategy, designs risk-based solutions and leads advisory, assurance and delivery across complex technology environments.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years in Information Security with senior design/consulting experience.
• Experience providing enterprise-wide information security advisory and assurance services.
• Proven ability to lead and coach teams.
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Law or related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing principal level thought leadership and technical direction across Information Security.
• Leading, coaching and developing a team of Information Security Consultants.
• Acting as trusted advisor to the CISO and senior stakeholders.
• Guiding complex solution designs, security risks and strategic decisions.
• Acting as senior escalation point for complex security incidents and advisory matters.
• Setting quality and consistency for advisory and assurance services.
• Guiding application of security principles across projects and agile release trains.
• Influencing information security strategy, roadmaps, policies and guidelines.
