Job summary

Compass Group New Zealand is seeking a motivated Cook for Burnham Military Camp. This permanent part-time role guarantees 20 hours per week and involves preparing meals, supporting kitchen operations and delivering an outstanding dining experience for Defence personnel in a fast-paced environment.

You will cook to Compass standards, assist with catering for events, and help with menu planning while maintaining high food safety and cleanliness across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Passion for producing quality food and delivering excellent customer service.
• Food Safety Unit Standards 167 & 168 preferred, or willingness to obtain them.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with a friendly, reliable, and hardworking approach.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with buffet, function, and special event catering requirements.
• Support menu planning, including special dietary and cultural requirements.
