Job summary

Barnardos Aotearoa is seeking a skilled contract development professional to strengthen contracting and tendering for child and family services. Qualifications

  • 3–5 years previous experience creating systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contracting processes.
  • Demonstrate strong relationship management skills and ability to work well with others across the organisation and external partners.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite and in-depth experience with CRM databases.
  • Previous experience working in the not-for-profit sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development - use a project management approach to acquire new contracts.
  • Engage with key stakeholders using systems and processes to review new opportunities.
  • Support the wider Business Development team in identifying innovative and efficient approaches to enhance contract delivery.
  • Advise and support the tendering process.
  • Support projects to ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Identify risks, develop risk mitigation strategies and implement contingency plans.
  • Process and Systems Improvement - develop, maintain and improve central contracts system.
  • Monitor and identify opportunities for future funding.
  • Strengthen contractual relationships between Barnardos and contract developers and/or providers.

About the role

The role supports our Child and Family Services team to develop new services through contracting and tendering. You will collaborate with the wider Business Development team to develop new and more effective ways of supporting contract delivery. You will also maintain a reliable system for oversight of national and regional contracts, ensuring ease of access to information and accuracy of reporting.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate and detail oriented. You will be essential in the management of contracts and agreements while ensuring compliance. You will also have the ability to develop innovative systems and processes that will streamline current and future projects.

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours a week), based in our Auckland or Wellington office.
