Job summary

Barnardos New Zealand is seeking an Intensive Wraparound Facilitator to support tamariki in Hamilton. The role involves coordinating the wraparound process with families/whānau, developing and monitoring plans, and liaising with MOE Learning Support to ensure a coordinated service.

The position is permanent, full-time in Hamilton, with travel across the region. A NZ driver’s license is essential and the role is based on-site.

Intensive Wraparound Facilitator - Hamilton

Barnardos and the Ministry of Education (MOE) deliver the Intensive Wraparound Service (IWS), which works with students who have complex behavioural needs. You will be working with the student and family/whānau to engage them in the IWS process and support them and the IWS team to develop and monitor plans.

This permanent full-time position is 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri).

The role is based in Hamilton and will require some travel, so a full NZ drivers' license is essential

The work can be challenging but is also extremely rewarding and is a vital part of our work to make Aotearoa a better, safer, happier place for tamariki.

Your Role

• To orient the students and family/ whānau to the wraparound process and provide co-ordination of key team members.
• Support the development of a plan with agreed outcomes for the family/whānau, and to monitor and record the progress of these outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with the family/ whānau, Ministry of Education Learning Support and other groups to ensure a coordinated wraparound service.
• Produce timely and accurate documentation to support the Intensive Wraparound Services

What You'll Bring

• A tertiary qualification in social work or other relevant qualification.
• Proven experience working with children, families/whānau and Māori and Pacific communities.
• To value diversity and encourage it in others, especially when working with children with high and complex needs and their families.
• The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication, organisation and meeting facilitation skills.
• The ability to build strong professional relationships and champion the perspective of the student and their family through the IWS process.
• Resilience and a clear understanding of your own self-care needs and when to practice them.
• A clean, full NZ driver's licence (travel across the region will be required).
