Job summary

Datacom in New Zealand seeks a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join on an initial 3‑month contract with potential extension. You will bridge business requirements with technical delivery, supporting API-led solutions and system enhancements across complex environments.

The role requires extensive Technical BA experience, strong API knowledge, and collaboration with stakeholders, developers, testers, and delivery teams. Location options include Wellington, Auckland, or Midlands.

Qualifications

• 12+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, including significant Technical BA experience.
• Strong experience with Swagger, Postman, REST APIs, API contracts, and API integrations.
• Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile/SAFe, Jira, and Confluence.
• Understanding of API security, cloud concepts, containerisation, CI/CD, service discovery, and distributed tracing.
• Strong SQL, data analysis, and system integration knowledge.
• Previous hands-on API development experience would be a strong advantage.
• Experience with APIs at scale, API best practices, reusability, resilience, and ITSM practices is desirable.
• Banking, payments, credit card, insurance, or broader financial services experience will be highly regarded.
