Job summary

Tradestaff Waikato is seeking experienced Construction Workers to join a mix of commercial and residential projects across the Waikato.

You don't need to be a qualified tradesperson, but you should be comfortable using basic hand and power tools, reading measurements, and following instructions from builders and tradespeople.

Immediate starts available with full-time hours and weekly pay, plus PPE supplied and ongoing support from the Tradestaff team.

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites
• Own a basic set of construction hand tools and tool belt/apron
• Able to read a tape measure
• Physically fit and enjoys hands-on work
• Have reliable transport and a valid NZ driver licence

Construction Workers

Ready to step up from general labouring? Tradestaff Waikato are looking for experienced Construction Workers to join a range of commercial and residential projects across the Waikato.

These roles suit people who have spent time on construction sites and can confidently work alongside builders and tradespeople. You're not expected to be a qualified carpenter or an experienced Hammer Hand, but you should be comfortable using basic hand and power tools, following instructions, and getting stuck in from day one.

If you've worked on construction sites, know your way around basic tools, and are ready to take the next step beyond general labouring, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Every assignment is different, but your work could include:

• Assisting builders and qualified tradespeople


• Measuring, marking and cutting basic materials


• Using hand and power tools safely


• Installing framing, insulation, cladding and building products


• Site preparation and clean-up


• Loading and unloading materials


• General construction duties around active building sites

We're looking for people who

• Have previous construction experience


• Own a basic set of construction hand tools and a tool belt or apron


• Ideally own an impact driver and the tools needed for day-to-day site work


• Can confidently use common hand and power tools


• Can accurately read a tape measure


• Are physically fit and enjoy hands-on work


• Have reliable transport


• Hold a Full NZ Driver Licence, or a Restricted Licence with a plan to obtain your Full Licence soon


• Have a mobile phone and email access


• Can pass a drug and alcohol test


• Understand the importance of Health and Safety


• Are reliable, motivated and enjoy working as part of a team


• Are available for early starts and full-time hours

• Pay rates of$26 to $28 per hour, depending on your experience and the assignment
