Job summary

OneStaff is currently seeking experienced and reliable Construction Workers to support a range of residential, commercial, and civil construction projects across New Zealand. You will work alongside qualified tradespeople and site teams, assisting with various construction activities and site duties.

Successful candidates have a minimum of 12 months hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, teamwork, and a commitment to health and safety on-site.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months of hands-on construction experience.
• Experience across one or more construction environments: building, carpentry, civil, residential, commercial, finishing trades.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform hands-on construction work.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and teamwork.
• Commitment to health and safety on-site and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople.

Responsibilities

• General building and construction work.
• Assisting builders, carpenters, and site teams.
• Supporting a range of construction activities across residential, commercial, and civil projects.
• Site preparation, clean-up, and material handling.

About the Role

As a Construction Worker, you will work alongside qualified tradespeople and site teams, assisting with a variety of construction activities including:

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 12 months' hands-on experience within the construction industry
• Experience working across one or more construction environments, including:

• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform hands-on construction work

• A Full Class 1 Driver Licence (preferred)

Flexibility & Travel Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects, successful candidates must be flexible and available to work across various locations throughout New Zealand. This may involve travel and periods working away from home.

Work may be required across multiple regions throughout New Zealand, including:

• Auckland
• Bay of Plenty
• Gisborne
• Hawke's Bay
• Taranaki
• Manawatu-Whanganui
• Wellington
• Nelson-Tasman
• Marlborough
• West Coast
• Otago

Applicants should be:

• Available to work on projects throughout New Zealand as required
• Willing to travel and stay away from home for short-term or extended assignments
• Flexible with work locations, hours, and project requirements
• Able to mobilise to different sites at short notice when required

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful applicants must be able to:

• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Obtain a satisfactory Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check
• Demonstrate the legal right to work in New Zealand
