Job summary

WSP in New Zealand invites you to join our Research and Innovation Centre as a Concrete Technologist in Petone, Lower Hutt. You’ll apply materials expertise to assess concrete structures, perform lab tests, site investigations and develop practical solutions for project teams.

Occasional travel may be required. A tertiary qualification in materials testing and a NZ driver’s licence are preferred, with strong QA knowledge and client-focused communication.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualification and practical experience in materials research and testing.
• A sound understanding of technical standards, quality assurance and safe working practices.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and follow work through.
• A collaborative, client-focused approach and clear communication, reasoning and negotiation skills.
• Professionalism, integrity and respect for confidentiality, with a commitment to ongoing development and relevant professional registration or licensing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver concrete durability, performance and materials investigations.
• Carry out laboratory testing, site investigations, sampling and applied research.
• Prepare project scopes, briefs, cost estimates and clear technical reports.
• Partner with clients and project teams to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.
• Bring fresh ideas to project delivery and help grow our specialist services.
• Travel to project sites when required.
