Job summary

Join our team in the Coromandel region seeks a Bylaws Compliance Officer to work full-time in the field, engaging with residents and visitors to address bylaw matters. You will patrol areas around Coromandel Town and Coromandel North, responding to service requests on dog control, litter, parking, and freedom camping, among others.

The role is field-based with weekend roster requirements and support from a compliance team.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking investigations, or monitoring compliance
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills
• Good written communication and reporting skills
• A good understanding of compliance, regulation, or community safety

Responsibilities

• Patrols and respond to service requests across bylaw matters (dog control, litter, parking, freedom camping, etc.)
• Work independently in the field with support from the compliance team
• Engage with community members and help resolve issues
• Note: some weekend work as part of the roster

We are seeking a Bylaws Compliance Officer to join our team. This full-time role is based predominantly around the Coromandel Town and Coromandel North area.

A typical day involves a mix of proactive patrols and responding to service requests across a wide range of bylaw-related matters — including freedom camping, dog control, litter, parking, and more.

You’ll work independently in the field, supported by a wider compliance team.

About you

You’ll bring strong communication skills and a calm, practical approach to resolving conflict. You’ll also be confident working around dogs and interacting with people. Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience undertaking investigations, or monitoring compliance
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills
• Good written communication and reporting skills
• A good understanding of compliance, regulation, or community safety

Note:

this role covers some weekend work as part of the team roster.
