Job description

Contract:Permanent, Full-time and Part-time options

Salary: $86,045 - $110,000 per annum

Are you a Physiotherapist looking for the opportunity to move into a Community role? This vacancy could be tailored to someone looking for either full or part-time work and we do accommodate some hybrid working from home. If you enjoy a supportive team environment and are passionate about innovative, effective practice, you should consider joining us!

Our Community Physiotherapists see people across the Hutt Valley with a wide range of conditions including falls risk in frail older people, mobility limitations after medical events, recovery from joint surgery, and loss of function due to chronic health conditions.

We are looking for someone experienced or keen to move into Community based practice, where the work is varied, and will include some assessment and intervention with wheelchair users. You will be well supported in your skill development by colleagues and mentoring from our District Wheeled Mobility service.

We are a large, friendly, interdisciplinary team offering you access to Physiotherapy colleagues, along with Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Speech Language therapists, Dietitians, Nurses and Doctors. Our service delivery models are evolving and will see us using inter-professional practice approaches and delegating more work to our skilled Allied HealthAssistants.

We are continuing to build relationships with Primary Health and a broad range of Government and Community providers which is already making it easier for our staff to provide timelier, effective and equity focused health services.

Te Herenga Tangata has recently become part of a single Community Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health group together with our Capital Coast colleagues increasing professional and career development opportunities for our staff. Within this position you will have access to clinical supervision, the support of the PT Professional leader, in-service and external training opportunities relevant to your role.

Here at Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District we embrace diversity and welcome applications from all people, including all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disability and religions. A workforce that is diverse and inclusive means that we are better positioned to understand and serve our community.

Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District are pro-equity health organisation, with a particular focus on Māori, Pacific Peoples, and the Disability Community.

You - ll have a sense of humour, along with excellent communication and time-management skills. You - ll enjoy working within a team, and be able to quickly develop positive relationships with a variety of hospital based and primary care professionals.

Along with your direct practice, you - ll have the opportunity to be involved in or lead quality improvement work, both at a team and wider service level as we continue to develop our models.

As the successful candidate you will be required to be an NZ Registered Physiotherapist with a current APC, drivers licence and experience relevant to the role.

We provide an exciting and dynamic inter-disciplinary team environment, a diverse and rewarding caseload with a broad range of areas to develop into, regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development opportunities.

We are looking to develop a culturally diverse team and strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds with the right skills to consider applying. We will be continuing to develop the way we work with Maori and Pacific people and would value more applicants from these communities.

Some hours may be worked from home if this would suit your needs and those of the service.
