Job summary

Plunket is seeking a Community Services Coordinator to support the Whakatāne community. This permanent, 30-hour-per-week role focuses on understanding whānau needs and linking them with available services, while coordinating volunteers who run groups and in-home support.

You will build relationships with community partners and represent the organisation at events, contributing to culturally safe practice and better access for priority communities.

Qualifications

• Ability to network with whānau and partners and represent the organisation professionally.
• Strong computer literacy to post and engage on local social media.
• Experience in community work and cultural safety with Māori and Pasifika communities.

Responsibilities

• Gather insights internally and externally about existing services and opportunities in the community.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
• Raise the profile of Whānau Āwhina Plunket at relevant community events.
• Recruit, onboard and communicate with volunteers who run groups and in-home support.
